The Family service, which always takes place on the first Sunday of the month, happened to fall on June 4th,the festival of Pentecost. Reverend Joan Thornett led a Family Eucharist service to celebrate. The children sat at the front of the Church so they could see what Reverend Joan was doing and she explained to them what she was wearing, why she was wearing red and how she celebrated the Last Supper. The children appeared to be very interested and it is hoped that the service will mean more to them when they come to the point of receiving communion. They did go up to the altar for a blessing. Father Peter arrived at the end of the service and was able to give the Blessing.
The next Family Service will be on July 2nd when the theme will be Music! Music! Music! to celebrate the renovation of the William Hill organ.
